The Cold Collective: Pickle & Plunge for Heart Month

We had a blast at the Pickle & Plunge event in West Palm Beach to raise funds for Heart Disease Research! We did some pickleball, cold plunging, wellness shots, workout classes, and a whole lot of fun with the Palm Beach community. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Florida Heart Research Foundation!

Heart Month at Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital

We are so grateful for another great Heart Month at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital! This Heart Month was loaded with fun activities, including a special #WearRedDay, where we did a Heart Walk and dressed to impress in red to spread awareness and stand strong for the children battling congenital heart disease. We sponsored the annual Touch-A-Truck event, where friends and families had the chance to explore a range of vehicles, including: Hollywood Fire Department’s fire trucks, Davie Police Department’s SWAT truck, Ride2Revive’s Lamborghini and mini-Lambos, Museum of Discovery & Science’s STEMobile, Robins & Morton/Solution Construction’s Excavator, Truly Nolen’s Mouse Mobile, Kona Ice’s cool treats &  Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital 's very own Transport Ambulance team. We had many other activities set up during the month, such as smooch-a-pooch, the teddy bear clinic, I <3 Camp, ATM Acts of Kindness, and the Heart Healthy Cooking Class.

Heart Day at FIU

Heart Day at Florida International University (FIU) is an annual event sponsored by the Florida Heart Research Institute, dedicated to promoting heart health awareness and education among students and the community. Heart Day 2025 was a resounding success, with a range of impactful activities and achievements. Researchers from across southern Florida showcased their ongoing projects through engaging posters and flash talks. Additionally, numerous clubs and colleges participated in outreach efforts aimed at high school students, focusing on educating them about heart health. Special recognition goes to Aasma Dahal, who secured first place in the poster presentation, Erika Perez, who claimed second place, and Sophie Ashbrook, the winner of the flash talk competition.

Heart Month at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital

Every year, HeartMonth shines a spotlight on our courageous heart warriors. It’s a time where we join forces and ensure that our little ones receive the best care possible, surrounded by a warm healing environment throughout their stay. This month, with the help of our generous donors,  we were able to not only provide patients and families with the utmost care, but we brought smiles and endless laughter through activations for our heart patients.

And here’s a heart filled fun fact for you: Did you know that Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital receives grants from funds raised when you switch from the Sunshine State license plate to the Stop Heart Disease license plate? Vertilux Ltd. Step Challenge - 4th Edition was a Huge Success!

We cannot thank Vertilux enough for once again graciously choosing Florida Heart as the recipient of their "Steps Challenge" contest which is a 22-day walking challenge to encourage the Vertilux staff to keep active and moving by walking more. This year, all of their offices from their local office in Doral, Florida, to their worldwide offices, participated in the contest where their employees received $1 per 1000 steps made in 22 days and which Vertilux matched the total amount of the prizes to donate to Florida Heart. The participants total amount of steps was 9,647,180 which is the equivalent of 4,823 miles! Their employees and organization raised an incredible $5,727.56 to benefit Florida Heart Research Foundation!

Heart Month at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital was amazing!

Florida Heart Research Foundation is so proud to sponsor Heart Month at Joe Di Maggio Children's Hospital and we thank everyone there for organizing all of the incredible activities and goodies for all of the in-patients and out-patients and their families, including the JDCH Heart Walk in the hospital! We thank all of the doctors, nurses, staff, family members and most of all, the children and look forward to partnering on future projects with JDCH to continue to support these efforts to put a smile on the faces of young patients affected by heart disease.

Proceeds raised by the sale of our specialty license plate are used to support cardiovascular programs within the State of Florida to further understand heart disease and is causes, treatment, cure and prevention. ❤❤

Miami Heart Day Symposium at FIU

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at FIU established the Miami Heart Month to coincide with the American Heart Month recognized nationally by the Florida Heart Research Foundation, AHA, CDC and NHLBI. The

event was an opportunity for students and faculty from around the country to learn and have discussions on the current research and challenges being addressed in cardiovascular medicine. Thank you to: Drs. Hutcheson & Ramaswamy and PhD Candidates Daniel Chaparro, Valentina Dargam, Perony Nogueira & Mohammad Shaver as we are proud to support their research at FIU, Claudia Correa, certified Health and Wellness Coach on behalf of Florida Heart for serving on the panel discussion and the Biomed Engineering Department for the award given to us in recognition and appreciation for our commitment to advancing cardiovascular research and participation in their annual Miami Heart Day Symposium! Stay tuned for next year's Heart Day Symposium as plans are underway to grow its community outreach area outside of researchers at FIU to promote more general awareness on cardiovascular health and cardiovascular research!

Pinellas County Tax Collector Offices

Thank you to everyone at the Pinellas County Tax Collector Offices for supporting Florida Heart once again during Heart Month by promoting our Stop Heart Disease specialty license plate. Proceeds raised by the sale of our plate are used to support cardiovascular programs within the State of Florida to further understand heart disease and its causes, treatment, cure and prevention. We are so grateful to all of you for choosing Florida Heart to represent during Heart Month!
