The Florida Heart Research Foundation, Inc awards funds to support research within the State of Florida
to further understand heart disease and its causes, treatment, cure and prevention.
Heart disease is the
primary cause of death among Americans.
This research includes the study of the diseases of the blood vessel system (cardiovascular disease) that may block the flow of blood to vital organs. Cardiovascular disease can cause heart attacks, stroke and heart and kidney failure.
Research conducted with Florida Heart Research Foundation's funds has been presented at national and international meetings of cardiologists and published in scientific journals.
Florida Heart Research Foundation's funds are also used to support education on heart health.

license plate are legislatively mandated to support heart disease research, education and prevention programs throughout Florida. $25 from registration fees of every plate sold and renewed will go to the Florida Heart Research Foundation where it will be used to Stop Heart Disease through Research, Education and Prevention:
Objective of the Plate:
- To raise funds for heart disease research, education and prevention programs in Florida.
- To increase awareness that heart disease is the leading cause of death and disability in our state.
- To educate Floridians that heart disease can be prevented, stopped, and even reversed if corrective steps are taken.
