The Florida Heart Research Foundation, Inc awards funds to support research within the State of Florida
to further understand heart disease and its causes, treatment, cure and prevention.
Heart disease is the
primary cause of death among Americans.
This research includes the study of the diseases of the blood vessel system (cardiovascular disease) that may block the flow of blood to vital organs. Cardiovascular disease can cause heart attacks, stroke and heart and kidney failure.
Research conducted with Florida Heart Research Foundation's funds has been presented at national and international meetings of cardiologists and published in scientific journals.
Florida Heart Research Foundation's funds are also used to support education on heart health.
